MTU Detroit Diesel Australia signed a dealer agreement with independent engine manufacturer DEUTZ in Melbourne this month, as part of a mutually beneficial product and service cooperative.

DEUTZ’s leading German-built engines will be offered as part of MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s push to deliver an enhanced product line-up across its lower power range from 12 – 500 kW, and with an emphasis on lower Tier emissions standards.

The agreement will bolster MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s ability to deliver a more complete power offering to market, while at the same time enhancing DEUTZ’s service and support reach to customers.

Greg Gilkes, Manager Off-Highway Markets – MTU Detroit Diesel Australia, said that the deal “provides the basis upon which DEUTZ and MTU Detroit Diesel Australia can work towards the efficient and effective delivery and support of these engines in-country.”

“By tapping into our comprehensive network, we can offer DEUTZ and their customers the highest level of technical support, from our engine experts, in-house, as part of our Professional Power People vision,” Greg adds.

According to Craig Chamberlin, Managing Director, DEUTZ, the deal is important to the Company’s current business strategy, and in line with growing their DEUTZ product and support footprint within Australia.

“The DEUTZ brand is a firmly established player in the equipment manufacturing and operating industry, and importantly, our engines are a ‘good fit’ for MTU Detroit Diesel Australia, complimenting their current product power range and mix,” Craig said at the signing.

The deal is a win-win for customers and dealers who will benefit from the complete systems solutions and comprehensive service support.

DEUTZ products and servicing will be available through MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s comprehensive Australia-wide branch network, encompassing 18 locations.
